Nestled in the heart of the Chianti region at 520 of altitude, only 5 minutes from Radda in Chianti and 35 minutes from Siena is this original and charming luxury villa surrounded by 13 hectares of private area. The love of art, history and tradition and the eclectic style which underpins the property is visible even from the garden, which is situated on a number of levels, with fountains, antique vases, a pond and a leafy tunnel leading to the other side of the garden. Terraces and patio areas are all equipped with comfortable sofas and armchairs making them ideal for relaxing, enjoying the silence and the stunning scenery. There is also a terrace with direct access to both the kitchen and living room providing a perfect place to eat under the stars. The garden and the house are scattered with statues, columns and busts which create a unique and exquisite environment and enrich the property’s elegance.
The interior of the property is extremely refined; silk upholstery and curtains are found throughout, and the spectacular carpets and original ornaments reveal that every part of the house has been decorated learnedly, luxuriously and with a consideration for past times. In addition to the splendour, the house is also equipped with high-quality appliances and a spacious and well-stocked kitchen with direct outside access. Plentiful windows, which in the kitchen and living room take up a full wall, create a light and pleasant environment, give a sense of continuity of the outdoors, and allow full enjoyment of the landscape even from inside the house. The heated pool is at 50 mts from the villa.

excellent We returned from Italy on Wednesday. This note is just to say that our already high expectations for our week at Villa Modane (let's face it it was not cheap!) were exceeded in just about every respect. My family of 13, ranging from 3 months to 89 years old, had a wonderful time in a magical place. I would give a glowing reference to anyone who may be considering it for a vacation. Service by your company was high quality too.

excellent Although on arrival we had a problem with the care taker upon and it looked as though the grass at the property had not been cut for weeks, everything in the end worked out terrific. Sonia , the concierge at Home In Italy was very helpful in securing services and finding a resolution to our original problem. Because this was the first listing for Modane with Home in Italy we were met by Sonia on our arrival, it was lovely to meet her personally after so many emails and planning. The views from Modane were absolutely fantastic and its location was perfect for day/afternoon trips to Siena, Florence, SanGimiango, Moltepullicano, vineyards and other Tuscan towns. The layout of the house and supplies provided were perfect for our large party of 8 adults. We were able to have guests from England spend a few nights and enjoy the magical surroundings. The appointments at Modane were exquisite; it was quite obvious that the owner have a great sense of style. The highlights of our week included the cooks we requested for two of our nights. The food was fantastic and the convenience of having meals prepared for us was well worth the expense. They were so entertaining and the food was so delicious we requested they come back for a third night, which they obliged. We all agreed that the lasagna Marie Palo prepared was the best lasagna any of us had ever tasted. All in all this was an A++ experience.
