Arriving at the summit of this beautiful, private 280 acre estate, gives the impression of reaching the point closest to the sky in Umbria. Five stone farmhouses can be found in this beautiful countryside setting, immersed between fields and woods. Set in different areas on the estate, each one of these houses enjoys absolute privacy and a breathtaking view. The charming owners, an English speaking couple, live in the one set at the highest point and are always available to assist guests during their stay.
Cataccio and Calesa are two very similar, comfortable family houses and can be rented by two groups of friends that love to holiday together in separate houses. Cataccio is only a few hundred metres from Calesa, yet these two houses are totally out of sight and sound of each other, some twelve minutes walk along lovely leafy lanes. Restored to the same high standards of Calesa, this house has the added attraction of having a four bedded room, perfect for families with children as this room is designed with them in mind. Here the 12 x 6 mts swimming pool, with its separate paddling pool, is situated about 50 mts from the house up a few steps, which further enhances the dramatic and stunning scenery, and is surrounded by olive groves and trees.
The villa is in an excellent position for driving to lots of the most beautiful parts of Umbria and parts of Tuscany such as Siena and Cortona. Gubbio, Perugia and Lake Trasimeno are the closest and on the typical tourist route, but the small, delightful villages such as Montone, a charming medieval village boasting glimpses of breathtaking views, excellent restaurants and ‘trattorias’, and small shops selling olive oil and truffles.
Siena is just 1 hour 20 minutes drive and to reach Cortona, just 35 minutes drive, one crosses the border of Umbria and Tuscany along a road which runs through the beautiful countryside, passing village after village where it’s always a pleasure to stop in one of the many typical ‘trattorias".

restaurant 3km/2miles without leaving the estate, grocery shop 6km/3miles, supermarket, shops, other restaurants, bank all in Umbertide 15km/9miles, golf course 12km/7,5miles, massages at the villa: Californian massage, relaxing massage, aromatherapic massage, Shiatsu, Raichi massage - the cost for 1 hour is 120 Euros to pay directly on site. It is also possible to organize Yoga lessons and Taichi Qi Gong lessons for 120 Euro per lesson for the whole group that will partecipate. Ballon ride for 300 Euro per person (min. 2 people), take-off points are Lake Trasimeno, Assisi or Todi.

Rentals from Friday to Friday, permanent managers (owners) on the estate, cook, babysitter, tennis coach and driver service on request, occupancy maximum 6+4 children/teenagers or 8 adults. One of the double bedrooms is a quadruple.

very good Along with another family we have just returned from a delightful week at Cataccio. The house is very well equipped and feels lived in (adding to the warmth of the place and avoiding the sterility you can find in some rentals. Loads of books, games, cuddly toys for the children, etc. The swimming pool was great, slightly raised away from the house so that you dont have to worry about your toddler wandering out of the door and not to treated to upset delicate skin and hair. Great little splash pool adjoins the mail pool which works well for toddlers. The owners of the estate (english) are extremely knowledgable about the area and nothing was too much trouble for them during our stay. They are quite close by when needed but you have total privacy in the house and they are absolutely respectful of that. The only downside for us on the whole stay was the meals and service option that we took for for a few nights. Only one good meal and not of a high standard generally (with a lot of salt in the cooking which is typical to the area). We also had an option of drop off meals a few nights which was half the price and much better so I would suggest that option if you dont want to cook but avoid the service option unless of course the cooks change. If you want to cook their is a great \\\\\\\"waitrose-like\\\\\\\" like supermarket 25 mins drive in Umbertide and has almost everything you would need. The owners are also making a recreation area with a great tennis court, tippee that will delight the children young and old and a football pitch (dont\\\\\\\'t expect wembley) which is a welcome distraction for the kids even though it is a few minutes drive from the house because of the step hill to navigate. I would not hesitate to recommend the property. Our trip was for 2 families (one of four and one of six) and it worked really well.
