The privilege of finding yourself in the heart of one of the most symbolic places in Puglia is not easy to do, but the masseria Terrarossa, is right there, among the Valle d’Itria, Ostuni, known as the ‘white city’, and the sea. Equidistant to the cities of Brindisi and Bari, the masseria Terrarossa can be easily reached by Bari airport in around 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Sophisticated and comfortable, Terrarossa is a truly private villa with swimming pool and air conditioning which, thanks to its position, immersed in typical Mediterranean countryside, from the red earth typical of the area and the strange shapes of the century old olive trees, offers an idyllic tranquil and relaxing atmosphere.
The buildings have been developed on two parts, the main house and the guest house, opposite each other while united by a surrounding wall which forms a square where the swimming pool, a delightful garden, the parking area and an elegant portico with lounge and dining area can be found. The guest house has two bedrooms and four suites. The guest house is in front of the main villa facing the pool. The bedrooms are situated in both buildings, while the living area is in just one. In the main living area a television connected to SKY, a DVD player, a stereo system and a small collection of Italian and English books are all available for guests use.
Almost all the bedrooms have independent access from the garden and some are very spacious suites, with a kitchen corner for preparing breakfast, a lounge and either a portico or a terrace, all are elegantly furnished. All the suites have television, DVD player and stereo system, a small collection of DVD’s is at guests’ disposal. There isn’t a telephone line at the villa but there is a lap top computer with high speed internet connection in the main house. For guests who prefer to use their own computer the codes to access the internet will be provided by the villa staff. Every room is comfortably furnished and all the furnishings have been chosen with great care, offering diverse styles and colour schemes, creating a different identity for each room. The elegant style is the result of the years of the owners’ lives: from east to west, travellers tales and emotions experienced, tastefully interpreted with great care for detail.
Breakfast is served on the light and airy verandah in refined surroundings, giving the opportunity to enjoy the first rays of sunlight immersed in the perfume of jasmine flowers and encompassed by the varied shapes of the surrounding olive trees.
Ostuni is 5 kilometres from the villa, and is the first stop in the Valle d’Itria, following on from here one finds the rest of the valley, walk the streets of Aberobello with its many ‘Trulli’, admire the baroque city of Lecce or delight in the wonderful view of Otranto and the cliffs of Polignano.For sport lovers the choice is wide; from the beach for windsurfing just 2,5km away, to cycling and horse riding just 100m away and finally golf, with an 18 hole course 10km from Terrarossa. In the evenings a caretaker is available at the masseria to give guests the possibility to go out without having to lock the house up.
Occasionally the farmers carry out their work in the fields around Terrarossa; they do try to respect the peace and quiet of the area but they may make some noise when passing with the tractors and trailers. The rental of this luxury Puglian villas includes breakfast every day. A flat gravel road in good condition of approx. 200 mts lead to the masseria from the main road.
