The incredible and exclusive panoramic position where this elegant villa reigns really does merit a holiday in Italy. Enlarged and completely renovated in 2007, Rucola is a magnificent 360 sqm villa, which overlooks many kilometres of the Tuscan coast. The view from Rucola is very similar to an aerial view that stretches from the sea to the Mediterranean vegetation which forms part of a protected nature reserve.
In ancient times during the Roman dominion, where Rucola now rises, stood an observation tower, this was destroyed and rebuilt several times throughout the past centuries, until the Second World War when it became a small observation post for the navy.
The villa is surrounded by a 1000 sqm fenced garden decorated with beautiful Mediterranean aromatic herbs and plants.
Beyond the fence there are 12 hectares of Mediterranean bush belonging to the property, which assures maximum privacy and total silence. Beside the swimming pool is a large gazebo with dining area overlooking the valley.
Built on two floors the size of the ground floor 80sqm living space is striking, it is extremely airy and light with patio doors that open onto the garden with its view and the pool area. A separate kitchen in typical Tuscan fashion offers all modern comforts and services.The Villa is provided with a mix of antique furniture restored by local artisans and modern furniture of typical Tuscan craftsmanship, also tiles in all bathrooms and bedrooms are in handcrafted terracotta. The decorations are enriched with antique prints and high quality furnishings that together with the pastel colours of the walls make the rooms comfortable and welcoming. On the first floor the large 120sqm roof terrace, overlooking the valley, has a Jacuzzi.
All rooms on the first floor have access to the terrace. The left wing of the villa consists of one floor whilst the right one includes an antique tower. Four bedrooms are provided with air-conditioning. The main entrance gate is equipped with video-entry phone and opens onto a private parking space for up to 3 cars.
The geographical position allows a variety of opportunities to visit the beautiful region of Tuscany, with beaches and pinewoods of the Tuscan Riviera only 25kms away. The historical cities like Volterra, San Gimignano, Pisa, Lucca and Florence are on a reasonable distance as well.
The unsurfaced road which leads to the villa is not suitable for sports or small cars, it is advisable to hire a 4x4. La Sassa, a medieval village situated on the peak of a hill, with a few houses one grocery shop and a small restaurant is 2km from the villa.

excellent It is a beautiful and very clean villa. The owner and his wife are very hospitable en very helpful. The owner even helped us with the problems we had with our car! Please tell the owner that we had such good experiences with the nice villa and this lovely couple taking good care of us.
