Built by a wealthy industrial family from Milan during the early 20th century, villa Adele and its garden were fully restored in 2002, preserving all the ancient details and materials.
A marvelous fenced in garden of 3500 sqm planted with a variety of flowers, shrubs and trees surrounds the main villa which hosts 8 people.
The guest house, situated at just 70mts from it, is furnished for 3 people. We would recommend its use for 2 people or 2 adults and a child. Both the main villa and the guest house enjoy magical view of Lake Como. The villa has a 70 sqm patio with garden furniture for outdoor living including a barbecue.
The heated, salt-water swimming pool is close to the patio.
The design and decor of the main villa are luxurious and featured marble and terracotta floors, cast iron artwork and restored doors from the year 1911. Antique furniture of extremely good taste, paintings and statues add to the exclusive ambience. With the exception of the kitchen, all the rooms enjoy views of Lake Como.
Due to its beautiful location, the villa affords views all the way from the headland of Bellagio to the North foothills of the Alps and as far as Nesso to the South. The small town of Argegno on a large, sunny inlet on the Western shore of Lake Como can be reached on foot via the old Roman road. It is located between Laglio, where - famously - George Clooney has his Italian residence, and Tremezzo, a favourite hide-out for many other VIPs.
Argegno first graced the maps in Roman times and, due to its pleasant climate with mild winters, has become one of Lake Como's favourite tourist destinations. The old centre of Argegno is very picturesque and offers many restaurants, coffee shops and pubs popular with holiday-makers from the Western shores of the lake. Hydrofoil and tourist boats connect Argegno to Como and to the other main points of interest.
From Argegno you can take a cable car up to Pigra and Argegno-Cima della Duaria conservation area (881mts). This is situated on a plateau that enjoys beautiful views of the lake and of the foothills of the Alps.
Very close to the villa, the classical S. Sisinnio church is a sought-after romantic venue for couples who want to get married in a catholic wedding ceremony. Winston Churchill once painted S. Sisinnio from the garden of villa Adele.
