Convento della Lauda is surrounded by the beautiful greenery of the Umbrian countryside. It is located in the small village of Romazzano, it is very peaceful, there are no shops, so the property is immersed in total privacy.  The house was built as a convent in 1500 and over the centuries was changed into a rural residence before its current transformation into a luxury villa, equipped with a 12,000msq garden and a swimming pool.  From its ancient origins, it has preserved its materials and structure, for example the traditional internal stone courtyard which joins the main villa to the two adjoining ones.  It is partially shaded by a hundred year old fig tree.
In the courtyard is an exquisite pergola covered by climbing plants that protect two large tables and a built-in barbecue from the sun’s rays.  The opposite side of the main villa is particularly beautiful during spring and summer: an explosion of white roses covers the ancient slanting wall, with a shaded area ideal for enjoying an aperitivo next to the swimming pool.  The garden is completely fenced in and has a covered garage and two entrances.
The interior has the charm of a well-organised luxury house.  Spacious rooms are divided on various levels. In particular, one room is equipped with A/C and a king size bed. In addition, the master bedroom is exceptionally large, with 2 en suite bathrooms, a chimney and a pleasant, furnished terrace.  The bathrooms are finished to a high standard, and the kitchen is well-equipped with a double oven and an ice maker.  There is a small cellar containing a selection of wines available for purchase.  The road that leads to the villa is asphalted and can be reached easily from the motorway as well as from Todi.

excellent

I would like to thank you for the wonderful vacation spent at the villa from July 14 to 21 – it was better than promised and unforgettable!

Is it possible to receive the current brochure (we have the 2006 edition) as we would love to rent from you in the future.

excellent

Dear Lesley

I am delighted that you got in touch with me. I had been planning to write to you but am still exhausted from the holiday.

The villa was perfect. Not only were the buildings themselves ideal for our purposes, but the objects (and especially the books) that they contained were a real joy. Alderana took wonderful care of us - we wanted to be able to thank her properly but our Italian is not all that good, so perhaps you could pass on our praise - and I cannot think of anything that could have been improved.

We were especially grateful that our youngest son (who is 28, so not really a child) could stay in the Studio despite the recent change in the rules. This meant that his oldest brother could have the separate building to himself and his girlfriend while his middle brother could share the top floor of the main building with his partner and children. No matter how close a family is, it is always nice to have your own space and a bit of privacy.

My three year old grandson (who was convinced that I owned the villa) was heartbroken that we had to leave. It is a real pity that we won't be able to return as a result of the change in the rules, because I could really imagine making this an annual event. I just cannot imagine that you could have many other properties which are of the same overall standard.

I would be grateful if you could send me this year's catalogue so that we can start thinking about what to do next year.

Thank you for everything (and please convey my thanks to your various colleagues who have been so helpful over the last year).

Tom

very good

Sonia,

We had a lovely time and the Villa was very nice, as advertized. The setting was great and the surroundings were very nice. Please tell the owner that Adrealda (housekeeper) was fantastic even though we spoke no Italian and she no English. The local cook prepared the best meal of the trip and had we known our schedule, we would have had her prepare more meals. Great fun.

My only two comments is that the directions could have been a little better, ( I will send you some suggestions) and while it's a small thing, we think that the villa should supply toilet paper and not make the guests have to buy it! The Villa was expensive an that is a small convenience that should be provided.

Also, the villa book was quite helpful. Some history on the convent would be fun, when it was renovated, connection to the town, etc.

A very nice trip. Thank you.
