This luxurious and lovely farmhouse overlooking the Alviano nature reserve, in southern Umbria, is the highly original result of the renovation of an old house which was formerly part of a small country church. All the windows look out from the panoramic side of the house onto a view of wide open spaces sweeping into the distance to the hills beyond. The sitting room gives on to a verandah, which has been stylishly furnished with garden chairs and a sofa. From the garden, with its abundance of flowers and herbs, several steps lead down to a lower level with a superb swimming pool, whose waters lap onto the surrounding deck, and a fully-equipped pool house. The farmhouse is elegantly furnished in excellent taste throughout. A traditional sitting room on the ground floor contains a magnificent double-facing fireplace; next door is a spacious living room with a large fireplace. All the rooms have wooden floors and a wealth of decorative features which make for an extremely refined living environment. There are numerous places of interest in the vicinity for culture enthusiasts and nature lovers alike, including Orvieto, Bagnoregio, the Alviano nature reserve and Todi. ground floor living room with fireplace and French windows leading out to the verandah, dining room with fireplace and table for 12, kitchen, corridor, guest bathroom. excellent Dear Celine, just a short note thanking you very much for all that you did to assist me in scheduling then hosting a most enjoyable week with my family at Ubaldo. Everything (including the weather) worked out wonderfully. My wife was thoroughly suprised, shocked, and delighted with our holiday. Please extend our very best wishes and most sincere thanks to Jessica, Rosella and Lidia and accept, once again, my appreciation for your kind efforts on my behalf. Best personal regards, Howard |

excellent Hiya Monina. We had an absolutely wonderful time at Ubaldo. Rossella made every effort to make us feel really at home. They have renovated the Villa with great taste. A sumptuous meal was provided on the first night which was actually our favourite of the whole trip.We were blessed with amazing weather so the stunning infinity pool became our sanctuary. We all came home tanned, Well fed and well rested Thank you once again for helping us make our parents 50th Wedding Anniversary so special. |

very good I just wanted to let you know that we loved the villa Ubaldo! It was so beautiful and the grounds and view were fantastic. Do you know if the owner is an interior designer or architect? There were a ton of design magazines in the home that made me think she might be in the industry. Please let the owner know how much we appreciated the loving care she put into the restoration. It made our stay so enjoyable. In case she is interested in suggestions for future guests, here are mine- screens on the windows would be great for leaving the windows open at night and if the air conditioning was actually installed in the bedrooms (as opposed to moving the units around and sticking the exhaust out the window) it would be a better situation. I also want to thank you for your responsiveness in getting back to me with all of my questions. You were very professional and easy to work with. Even the cooking worked out- we ended up having the keyholder/housekeeper (very sweet) cook for us every night except Sunday. I hope you are enjoying your summer and not suffering in the heat. Warm regards, Nancy |
