If you would like to live a dream, taking in the magical atmosphere of living in a castle from the 17th century – Castello del Cavaliere is the perfect place. Situated between Umbria and Lazio, the palazzo sits on the top of a high hill, forming part of the central square of an ancient village of 200 inhabitants, from where you can enjoy the stunning panorama of the surrounding countryside. Time seems to have stopped in this small village with its characteristic ‘piazza’ onto which the entrance of the castle faces.
The owners, descendants from a noble family who originally built the castle, have recently restored the building with excellent taste, respecting all the historical characteristics of the palace, from the precious wooden decorated ceilings, to the original frescoes which are particularly delightful in the dining room. The entrance hall decorated with antique arms and family emblems reminds you of the illustrious past of the castle. The Castello del Cavaliere is divided into three levels: the ground floor where two elegant apartments have been renovated, both with independent entrance; the first floor or the ‘Piano Nobile’, given this name as the original noble family used to live here; the second floor – divided into seven apartments for rent.
The privacy of the Piano Nobile is guaranteed in regards to the other two levels, as the very high ceilings and the thick walls stop any noise from penetrating from the other floors. Elegance and meticulous care to details can be found everywhere on the Piano Nobile, due to the professional work of the owner’s wife, a young brilliant architect who also personally designed some of the decoration. All the bathrooms are elegantly restored and follow the style of the castle. In the lower part of the village, about a 3 minute walk away from the Castello, there is a splendid garden with the private pool. The garden is located between the countryside and the last houses of the village, partially fenced by the antique walls of the property and some plants. A wall separates the pool area from the outside dining area, which consists of a barbecue, cooking area and an original open-air bathroom. For groups of more than 10 people it is also possible to use one or two of the apartments situated on the ground floor, reaching a maximum capacity of 14/18 people.
The pool is exclusively for the use of the guests of the Piano Nobile and of the guests of these two apartments only if they all form part of the same group. A recommended holiday home, ideal for exploring Umbria, Lazio and Southern Tuscany.
