As Grocery stores in Italy are closed on Sundays we recommend that you request some basic food supplies to be left at the villa for your meal on Saturday night and/or Sunday breakfast. This service will be done by the maid or the cook of the villa at a cost of 30 Euros. This sum, plus the receipt for the amount spent, is to be paid on arrival. Please let us know 1 week in advance.

welcoming & assistance at the villa

A person responsible for taking care of the house will welcome you, show you how things work and give you details of anything you need to know immediately. They usually can’t speak English, or they may only speak a little. This is not a problem, as in the villa you will find our help line number where we can be reached 7 days a week. Our operators will be glad to assist you over the phone for the questions you might have during your stay and give you general assistance in English.

information book

This is a guide containing information about the house. It also gives the addresses and telephone numbers of local recommended restaurants and general information for anyone staying in the area.

cooking service

Local cooks: This service is generally provided by excellent local cooks. They come highly recommended by the owners of the villas and they are skilled in preparing traditional and regional Italian dishes. They provide a complete service which includes the shopping, the cooking and the cleaning up afterwards. Please note that they do not usually provide table service so please check with your agency or Home In Italy to see if this service is available at your chosen villa.
How to book these services:
- When you confirm your booking of the villa, write your request on the booking form.
- Up to 2 weeks before arrival contact Home in Italy Office. If you request it after this date the service cannot be guaranteed.
Which menu? The menu will be decided by the cook, but will be based on local and traditional Italian cuisine. Let your agency or us know if there are any particular ingredients you wish to be excluded, or if you would like to have a vegetarian menu.
How to pay: The cooking service has to be paid directly to the cook at the end of each service. The price is normally between 10 to 15 Euros per hour, however price could be also higher in some cases. Check with the agency for the exact cost for each villa. The cook will also buy all the necessary food which is to be paid for directly upon receiving the receipt of the amount spent. It is not always possible to guarantee the services of a local cook, however every effort will be made.

maid service

In many villas maid service is included in the rental cost, as set out in the brochure price list. However, where this service is not included and you require it, or if you wish to increase the number of hours the maid comes in, let us or your agency know and we will book it for you. Although some of our properties have maid service; please note laundry, washing and ironing are considered to be extra services payable locally.

cooking & maid service staff

The maid and cooking staff are not employed directly by Home in Italy so we can not take responsibility if the person becomes unavailable or is considered unsuitable.

babysitting

Please check that this service is available at the property you have booked, and notify your agency or us at least twenty days before your arrival. If this service is subsequently not used once it has been booked, you will still be obliged to pay the babysitter the full payment. Please note that the local babysitters usually can’t speak English.

cancellation/amendment fees for extra services

Should you wish to cancel or amend any of the extra services that you have booked please do so at least 15 days before the first day of your rental by sending us a fax or an email. Failure to do so will result in cancellation / amendment charges being applied and charged to the credit card as follows:
maid service 7,00 Euro per requested hour.
cooking service by local cook 20,00 Euro per person per requested meal.
professional chef service 200,00 Euro per requested service.
babysitting 15,00 Euro per requested hour.
shopping service 100% of the cost shown on the receipt and 30,00 Euro for the service.
transfers 50% of the total cost, with a minimum cancellation fee of 100,00 Euro.
Cancellation or amendment of extra services done 2 days before the arrival or during your stay will be charged at full rate.
