Renting a large Italian villa in storied walls can be a unique experience, especially in Sicily, the most southern land of Italy, the crossroads of Mediterranean culture for thousands of years.
In the heart of Baroque Sicily, between the town of Noto and Palazzolo Acreide, there is a storied manor, today a luxury large villa for rent of 1500 square meters, called Mediterranea, immersed in the silent surrounding countryside. Crossing a long avenue, half-hidden by olive trees, you reach this vast rural fortress that appears in all its beauty. Mediterranea is a farmhouse from the nineteenth century, recently renovated by skilled architects and designers and transformed into a very refined holiday resort with eleven bedrooms.
This large residence is surrounded by defensive walls; the central courtyard separates two buildings, placed one in front of the other. On one side, the manor houses various living rooms, the dining room the kitchen and one bedroom. On the other side, the original dwellings of the peasant families have been transformed into luxurious suites. Mediterranea is one of those places whose charm is more experienced by visiting the place than looking at the photos.
Objects of art and evidence of the Sicilian past are notable next to the lamps, chairs of modern design and hand-painted tiles.
In the surroundings of the property, the landscape infuses a deep quietness, with its gentle hills and land where bare areas alternate with green areas.

every bedroom has a small fridge and TV. Mediterranea is based on a 5-star plus hotel, meaning the property offers daily cleaning service, a restaurant and a bar. It is not possible for guests to use the professional kitchen and the cooking service for lunch and dinner will be served in the restaurant. The staff lives on the grounds, at a 500-meter distance from the property, in a separate apartment. No pets allowed. Sheep and chickens on the premises.
