Lira is a large Tuscan villa for rent situated in the heart of Val d’Orcia, a few minutes drive from San Casciano dei Bagni, an antique village famous for its thermal baths.
The luxury property is immersed in the wild greenery and spectacularly landscaped with olive trees, shrubs and cypresses.
Lira was designed and constructed by its first owner, a distinguished international landscape and interior designer, who transformed the farmhouse into a stylish and luxurious home.
He built the house to look like an old luxury resort in Tuscany, whilst providing all possible modern conveniences.
Much attention has been lavished on the interiors to give the feeling of elegance, yet also maintaining the feel of a family home. This luxury villa has been photographed several times and has been featured in noted magazines as House & Garden and Elle Decor as well as the bestselling book Private Tuscany. Furnished to the highest standards Lira will appeal to the most discerning traveller.
Inside colours are muted and peaceful, all rooms are beautifully decorated with quality fabrics and antiques.
The house features a huge living room with a large fireplace. The kitchen is also state of the art. However, this elegant house is still very much a home with personal touches evident everywhere, making it a wonderful venue from which to explore Tuscany and Umbria.
The house is completely private, on top of a hill within fifty acres of oak woodland, pastures and olive groves, with expansive views of the Sienese countryside.
Lira makes the most of its expansive views with wrap-around terraces, creating intimate areas for dining or just relaxing. Also, the pool is heated, making it possible to enjoy the water in spring and autumn.

"Villa Lira was wonderful for our group of 10. 3 rooms were large and spacious while the others were smaller and more suited for one adult or two children. The facilities such as kitchen, and dining/lounging areas were abundant and fantastic. You can really cook there, making the villa very homey and comfortable. Vitullia, the housekeeper came in everyday and was a great help. The concierge helpline was so helpful and resourceful, always there for you to reach out to. Good wifi throughout the house. Highly recommended! A bit remote and a little hard to find though. Do not use gps but follow the concierge's directions given. Ristorante Daniela in San Casciano dei Bagni highly recommended. The town's little local shops are wonderful. The people very kind and friendly. Good luxury spa at Fonteverde a few minutes away between the villa and the town."
