This contemporary villa available for luxury vacation rentals is a work of art. Sleek, sophisticated, and well designed, this modern Tuscan home has serious curb appeal.
Within a vineyard of twenty-five hectares, this impressive country house called Travertino is built upon a hill, ideally facing south and offering a wide view of the surrounding green hills. Situated in Tuscany, yet close to the border of Umbria, an area recognized for the great outdoors, ideal for vineyards, where the extensive low hills allow one to have a view of the beautiful landscape of kilometres wide.
The nearest town to Travertino is Sarteano (4700 habitants), following Chiusi, from where you can take the train and have trips to Florence, Rome and Orvieto.
The villa, which was built in 1700, now has created a new life in a contemporary way.
“Travertine” is a famous local stone, which indicates the structure of the whole property. Indeed, the architectural work of this villa is designed to enhance this material, leaving the completely bare walls covered with travertine and furnishing the rooms with few pieces of design furniture. The large windows without curtains are made to represent the scenario of the countryside. In such a way that a tree, a branch and a hill have a full meaning within the geometric image of the villa.
The kitchen is wonderfully spacious and fully equipped, ideally for cooking lovers.
Next to the villa, there are two guest houses and a third building with a large living room, bar and event space, in order to create a sense of being in a “village”. Two large tanks on the grounds give a relaxing sound of water and divide the villa and the guest houses in an elegant way. Under one of the tanks, there is a gym, partially open to the outdoors and a beautiful private spa.
The third building, normally closed, is ideal for events, birthdays or other special get-togethers. It features a pizza oven, a large stone built BBQ, bar and a room to host wine tasting or other events.
The large infinity pool made of Travertine stone is surrounded by nature and situated between vineyards and olive groves. There is also a lounging area at the pool.
For sports lovers, the villa offers fitness equipment, bicycles, bocce court and a private tennis court. In front of the villa, there is a shaded outdoor area for dining, as well as other areas decorated in order to relax in comfort.
Siena, Arezzo, Perugia and Orvieto, the most famous historical cities of interest are easily accessible from this villa.
During the low season, it is highly recommendable to visit the thermal spas of San Casciano dei Bagni and Bagni di San Filippo, both within a thirty-minute drive away.

"Would you recommend your villa?: We would absolutely recommend Travertino. The villa has been elegantly renovated - modern, yet with a lovely Tuscan feel. The pool area was great for adults and kids alike and the tennis court and workout facilities were brilliant.
Service before travel: Excellent service every step of the way. The uncertainty due to Covid resulted in countless questions to the Home in Italy staff. We always received prompt, thoughtful and accurate responses that were immensely helpful and made our trip much less stressful and therefore much more enjoyable than it otherwise would have been.
Service while on trip: Impeccable service. Home in Italy responded quickly to all our questions and helped us secure all the services we requested from their trusted partners, sometimes on very short notice. The villa was just amazing in every sense and everyone was enjoying it so much that we did not want to go out. The staff and the owner of the villa went out of their way to ensure we were well looked after and this made all the difference. The villa and grounds were outstanding! This was the perfect place to celebrate my husband’s landmark birthday and both friends and family join me in thanking the entire team at the villa for a lovely experience.
Your recommendation for the restaurants, wine tours were all spot on and there was not one place which we could fault .

"Our family has had the most amazing week at your beautiful villa celebrating our mother’s 75th birthday this year.
The villa location is great, in the southern part of Tuscany with beautiful views.
We highly recommend Home in Italy great and excellent service before and during our trip.
Everything has been just perfect, the villa, the grounds, the tennis court, the beautiful gardens and last but not least the delicious breakfast and dinners we’ve been served here and the warm and wonderful staff.

"What can you make out of a traditional Tuscan/Umbrian farmhouse?
I am sure many things, but Travertino is of exceptional design. The living room is of particular success, the indoor-outdoor- flow never seemed to loose its appeal and amazement. The windows are beautifully set out and the overall atmosphere in this room, but also in the villa in general, are wonderful. A lot (!) of time had been spent on planning the layout and flexibility of the villa. The attention to detail in the design of the 'small' things be they window shutters, built in cabinets and minibars, the AV system, doors - what amazing doors!!!!, does not go unnoticed and in our case is truly appreciated. The execution of the architectural features is gorgeous, the stone work exceptional. Travertino truly gives room to breathe, generous, no expenses spared and that permeates the feeling during your stay. Touchingly sought out outdoor spots for spreading out if your in a big group. Amazing kitchen - you can let the uber-chef of your inner dreams come to life! Lovely pool, brilliant in it's simplicity and a delight to look at, embedded into its surroundings. Pristine tennis courts, fit for a Masters tournament. The bocci court was not functional during out stay, but am sure would be super fun in the late afternoons...
The garden is coming on beautifully and will only get better and better. The lavender-roses checkerboard flower bed is a theatre of dancing butterflies! Gorgeous orchards, kitchen garden and vineyard.
Worth noting that the villa is set in working farm grounds, you will have some noise from that; but all that good wine and food does need to grow somewhere.... Plenty of food shops etc nearby, very easy and convenient, especially fun to swing by on one of the many supplied bikes. Perfect little gym, very comfortable, proper professional massage/ treatment bed and sauna/ steam room. Tremendous therapists from the nearby thermal baths.
Last piece of advice: don't make too many plans for visiting nearby sites, this house and grounds have so much to offer and is too comfortable! Better to book two weeks, rather than one ; ) We honestly absolutely loved our stay here and would recommend it wholeheartedly."
