Villa Edera is an exclusive luxury villa for rent in Italy offering a nineteenth-century atmosphere, located on the western shore of Lake Como. The beautiful English garden starts at the back of this delightful holiday home rental and continues all the way up to the public road that separates the villa from the lake. Not far from the villa there is a large parking and a private dock for boats.
At the villa, located on three floors, seems that the time has stopped; decorated with flowered tapestries, mosaic floors, turned wooden stairs and late nineteenth-century paintings create a romantic and somewhat austere atmosphere. All rooms have a small safe and are equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi and satellite TV.
The beautiful, fully fenced in park was conceived as an English garden in the mid-nineteenth century and preserves secular plants of enchanting beauty. There are many gardens on the shores of Lake Como born as Italian gardens and later turned into English gardens, but only two of these were born as such; the splendid park of Villa Edera and the park of Villa Melzi in Bellagio. Acorns, redwoods, cork oaks, magnolias, Chilean peaches, Japanese cedars and bamboo are just some of the most beautiful and rare botanical specimens that can be admired in this park. Within this small botanical paradise, you can find a small vegetable garden with several fruit and vegetable trees, at guests’ disposal. In another outdoor area, a safe and secure playground is available for the fun of the youngest guests.
A few meters from the villa, there is a swimming pool with a heated outdoor shower. In addition to the pool, the villa has an illuminated tennis court, a table tennis table, a football table and an American billiard table.
Villa Edera is located ninety kilometres from the airport Milan – Malpensa, just over one hundred kilometres from Milan Linate airport and 120 kilometres from the Bergamo Orio al Serio airport. Como is about a forty kilometres distance, while Bellagio can be reached by ferry from Griante, only twelve kilometres distant from the villa.
