Milan is an easy city to reach thanks to the three airports and it’s your perfect destination if you love shopping or to attend different kinds of events: during the entire year, the city organizes cultural meetings, art exhibitions, fashion and design events.
Here an inspiration about touring Milan in a day, if you’re just passing by or if you don’t have so much time but don’t want to miss the best.

Duomo di Milano

In the heart of the city, you will find one of the most photographed monuments of Europe: Duomo di Milano. After visiting it far and wide and also upstairs on the terrace, just take a look around: you are in one of the most beautiful squares of the city, Piazza del Duomo! Take a walk through Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, one of the finest Milanese salons, and reach Piazza della Scala, where the famous theatre is situated.
Teatro della Scala really deserves your time and if you have an extra hour, take a guided tour, it’s really recommended in order to understand the history and admire the artistic and architectural beauties.

From Piazza Duomo, you can start your tour which will take you to Brera, one of the most enchanting districts of the city. The district of Brera winds its ways behind the square taking you to Pinacoteca, another worthy place.

After exploring the district, you will discover Via Garibaldi and Corso Como which are two quite sleepy streets during the day and the heart of fashion nightlife with cocktails and clubs during the night.

Castello Sforzesco is one of the symbols and an important part of the history of the city full of museums, libraries and archives… you will be spoilt for choice! The castle is situated in one of the most beautiful and famous park of the city, Parco Sempione, visited by Milan residents day and night, especially during lunch break.

One of the most visited places by tourists is the church Santa Maria delle Grazie and the Cenacolo (The Last Supper) by Leonardo Da Vinci. Just remember that the visit must be booked: guided tours are for a maximum of 25 persons and are not available every day. Without reservation, you will waste your time in endless queues.

If your energy is still high, go to Navigli and Darsena. Here you can have fun discovering shops, yards, romantic alleyways and places for an aperitif or dinner. You are in one of the most intense areas of the city, one of the most characteristic districts at all, always visited day and night which deserves to be visited.
