The Fiorita of Castelluccio di Norcia, Umbria: nature at its best!

The village of Castelluccio di Norcia is located in the National Park of the Sibillini Mountains, in the center of a tableland at an altitude of 1452 meters.
For several weeks, the upland of Castelluccio witnesses an important event, the chromatic monotony of the pasture and landscape change image. It happens every year, between late May and early July, thanks to the wonder of nature called "La Fiorita" of Castelluccio di Norcia.
When the flowers bloom, the three highlands burst with color, with shades ranging from yellow ocher to red, from purple to white. It is possible to admire lentils (which are a characteristic of this land), gentianella, poppies, daffodils, violets, pioneer violet, clovers, shamrocks and many other species.
And if you decide to take a walk in this "natural mosaic", who knows you might meet also some deer and gazelle ...
